El Dorado Supper Club's Prime Rib

Recipe originally published in the Milwaukee Sentinel - February, 1978.

14-pound rib eye roast
1 cup of seasoning (see recipe below)
1 quart water

Place meat in roasting pan and add the water and seasoning. Place in 400-degree oven for 45 minutes. Turn off heat and allow roast to sit in oven - without opening the door - for 30 minutes.

1/3 cup salt
2 tablespoons ground black pepper
3 tablespoons dry mustard
1 tablespoon onion powder
1 tablespoon garlic powder
2 teaspoons dried thyme
2 teaspoons dried oregano
2 teaspoons celery seed
1 teaspoon paprika
